Let's Talk Secret Weapons: Pinterest

Everyone’s talking about it. Again. Pinterest! It was so 2012. And in 2019 it turns out it never left!  So what’s the big deal? Let’s unpack it.

You fall in one of two Pinterest camps:

  1. Obsessed, or

  2. Still wondering what it’s worth beyond pinning wedding dresses and cute Kelpies (even though you’re neither getting married nor a dog-mom - yet)

No matter which camp you’re in - this issue’s for you!

Ok so Pinterest is 3 things:

  1. It’s FUN! (obvi)

  2. It heavily nurtures “know, like + trust”

  3. Not a social media platform, it’s a powerful search engine (but I’ll come back to that later)

Hands up if you’ve got a California desert vacation board. 👋🏽
Homemade Christmas present ideas board? 👋🏽

Yeah boo, I’ve got those too!

Addictive vision boarding aside, Pinterest is also a powerful tool - and ALL business!

While everyone is hustling on Instagram punching out posts trying to reach eyes before it disappears from the feed....

....Pinterest is just ticking away over here resurfacing images that you pinned years ago.

That’s right, Pinterest is a helluva under-utilized platform for it’s main benefit:

LONG LIFE IMAGERY

On Pinterest, your images + pins have the chance to automatically resurface to potential customers anywhere and everywhere again + again, as long as it lives on the platform.  It never ‘times out’ or gets filtered out by a fickle algorithm because Pinterest is not social media - it’s a search engine.

In other words:

>> 9/10 people pin an item they plan to purchase

>> 8/10 people make that purchase

>> 90% OF PEOPLE FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR PURCHASE

So if that’s not a fire starter, I don’t know what is!

👉🏼SO HERE'S MY HOT TIP

If you have a freebie, create a pin for it! Use either Photoshop or my fave free online image editing platform Canva to make your icon and then use that to send people to your freebie.  Once it’s up, it just keeps ticking in the background sending you lead after lead after lead.

Here's an example of my Slay Your Social FREE eguide. I created a pin for my freebie and then linked it to my Leadpage.

Alright friend - now it’s your turn to pin your freebie! You can knock this out in under an hour (even if you’re a newbie) and send me the link!  I’d love to be one of the many new pairs of eyes you’ll get across your content again + again + again

+ again

+ again

(you see where I’m going with this)

Time’s-a ticking - make it work for you!
